Øvrevoll Hosle in Bærum municipality is a versatile sports team with football, bandy, alpine skiing, cross-country skiing and several other sports in the club. At Hoslebanen, the field in front of the clubhouse, our lighting control system ensures optimal control and a better experience for the users.
Hoslebanen has a long history and was first used in 1966. At that time, there was only a grass pitch in a field. In 1988, it was converted into a gravel pitch with lights and irrigation systems, so the pitch could be used for bandy in the winter. In the 2000s, the need for a more versatile facility became clear, and plans began to be made for a combined sports facility with both artificial turf and artificial ice.
Datek Light Control and Bærum municipality have always had a close and good collaboration. All sports fields in the municipality have lighting control from us, the artificial turf field at Hoslebanen is no exception. In winter, the field is iced and serves as a bandy court. The lighting control is set up so that we can control each individual mast around the field to optimize the light on the field, and ensure that there is the right light at the right time. Around the field, new LED luminaires from Multilux/Function have been installed.
Hoslebanen is one of eight facilities that Øvrevoll Hosle uses every day, all year round. Therefore, it is important forHosle IL to have the ability to adjust the lighting on the facilities. This is necessary to limit light pollution around the facility, ensure that the facilities located in densely populated areas are turned off when there is no activity, and that they do not light up at night. And, of course, reduce energy costs.
Multilux has delivered 46 LED spotlights from the WS series to the Dutch AAA-LUX, which were mounted on the six 20 m high, existing lattice masts in the facility. The lighting system delivers 750 lux according to NS-EN12193. The light from the WS series provides a high level of comfort for the eye, and is perceived as very pleasant by the users. Colour rendering is close to natural daylight.
Hoslebanen is located in a very densely populated area, and great emphasis has been placed on glare control to ensure minimal stray light to the surroundings. This has been particularly successful, as the light is quickly cut off outside the playing surface. Øvrevoll Hosle has both contactor control and luminaire control from Datek Light Control at the facilities. On the new Hoslebanen, the latest generation of Zhaga units (Zhaga LCU Z5) are located in the masts. The units communicate with a Zhaga gateway, which in turn communicates with the Datek platform. The Zhaga LCU Z5 node is installed in a Zhaga junction box in each individual mast and communicates with the luminaires in the mast. Installation of lighting control units has been carried out by Laje AS. This provides full flexibility in terms of adjusting the light, so that the sports team gets the right brightness for the right activity.
LED floodlights replaced old conventional1000W steam lamps, and the energy savings are estimated at around 50%.
In all solutions from Datek Light Control for sports facilities, a set of rules is set up. This determines when there should be lights on the pitch. In Bærum municipality's solution, all facilities are automatically turned on based on sunset. In addition, a time is set for when the lights should be turned off. The pitch manager can easily adjust the light with the help of DLC Active, an app on the mobile phone. For example, the brightness can be turned up to service lights at 20%, training lights at 50%and match lights at 100%. Or you can turn the lights off completely. It is easy for the pitch manager to add/remove others who need access to lighting control in the app.
