Datek Light Control enters into an agreement with Nesodden municipality to deliver control systems for outdoor lighting.
In the municipality, large parts of the road lighting are of older vintage, both luminaires and the electrical infrastructure. This presents a number of problems. The road lighting systems do not have a common control system, but are lit by autonomous ignition points scattered around the municipality. Therefore, large areas can be left dark without the municipality being notified.
The road lights are far from energy-efficient, they shine with constant intensity from the time they are turned on in the evening until the next morning, regardless of the need for light on site. This will contribute to energy savings and significantly less light pollution in the municipality. Only a small fraction of the road lights are connected to an electricity meter, so consumption is paid from standard rates instead of actual consumption. In addition, the electrical infrastructure has a higher failure rate than what is expected today.
The municipality has started work on replacing all road lighting with modern, energy-efficient LED luminaires. The luminaires are delivered with a central control system, supplied by us at Datek Light Control. With LED technology, each luminaire can be dimmed based on the need for light on site.
Our control system ensures that each luminaire can report electricity consumption, so that consumption is paid based on actual conditions, not standard rates. Our electricity meter is certified by the Norwegian MetrologyService and consumption is measured directly in the distribution network.
With our control system, Nesodden gets the right light in the right place at the right time.
