For decades, the Norwegian Public RoadsAdministration has used Datek Light Control for the control of its outdoor lighting systems. With our modern IoT platform, all installations, regardless of the type of lighting system, can be controlled from the same interface. A small walkway, a 4-lane highway, tunnels and bridges are controlled with two-way communication in traditional road lighting cabinets or modern LED luminaires with our control units installed. All types of installations are gathered in the same future-oriented IoT platform.
The Fredrikstad Bridge is a good example of how the Norwegian Public Roads Administration utilizes the possibilities of our lighting control system to connect exciting artificial lighting with traditional road lighting. All the control components used in this project are standard products that the Norwegian Public Roads Administration has already installed several thousand of in Norway. The solution combines traditional street lighting control with wireless communication and full addressing of Dali drivers.
The Fredrikstad Bridge is an 825-metre-long steel truss bridge. It is one of the few arched/riveted truss bridges inNorway, and it was protected by the Directorate for Cultural Heritage in 2008.With our lighting system, the arch of the bridge really gets the attention it deserves. It was King Olav who opened the bridge in 1957. The bridge has a walkway and cycle path that is well lit when people cross the bridge at nightfall.
